Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a qualified Video Codec Engineer to join the firmware team. You will develop firmware solutions for video codecs, addressing encoder/decoder design, performance, and power efficiency in collaboration with hardware and software teams.

The role requires strong C programming and embedded systems experience, with deep knowledge of video codecs and multimedia processing.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Information Systems/CS or related field with 4+ years in Systems Engineering; or Master’s with 3+ years; or PhD with 2+ years.

Responsibilities

Design and develop video codecs and features across requirements, architecture, implementation and optimization.
Drive silicon bring-up, feature validation, root-cause analysis and issue resolution in pre- and post-silicon phases.
Collaborate with hardware, systems, software, verification and product teams to define HW/SW interfaces.
Develop, debug and optimize video codec solutions (Encoder/Decoder) for performance and quality.
Work with hardware teams to enhance future video subsystem capabilities and multimedia architectures.
Support customers and ecosystem partners with technical expertise and issue resolution.
Contribute to innovation in video processing and multimedia frameworks through architecture reviews.
