Qualifications

Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated, skilled, and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team remotely. The position is primarily intended for candidates based in Karachi, Pakistan, although applications from qualified candidates across Pakistan are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records, perform bank and credit card reconciliations, and prepare and post journal entries.
• Prepare financial statements and other accounting reports for business clients.
• Assist in preparing corporate tax returns, GST/HST returns, and payroll-related filings.
• Review accounting records, identify discrepancies, and ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain organized working papers and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with clients to obtain information, resolve queries, and complete assignments on time.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Commerce, or currently pursuing a professional accounting qualification such as CA or ACCA.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, and payroll.
• Strong practical experience with QuickBooks Online and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, conditional formatting, and data analysis, are essential. Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Sage 50 is an added advantage.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, cloud-based applications, and other business productivity tools.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with Canadian businesses or accounting firms.
• Candidates will be provided with training materials and guidance and will be required to complete the necessary training and demonstrate practical working knowledge of Canadian accounting, taxation, and payroll requirements within the first 2–3 months of employment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Must have a reliable internet connection, a suitable home-office setup, and be available to work full-time during regular Canadian Eastern Time business hours.

Compensation Range:

PKR 100,000–200,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience. Discretionary performance-based bonuses may be offered.
