SQL Database Developer - Onsite - Karachi

Hiring for a leading UAE-based Fintech firm in Karachi.

Job Description:

You will work closely with product, backend, and analytics teams to design efficient schemas, write complex stored procedures, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity across all modules.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases supporting mission-critical financial applications.
2. Write complex stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views using Microsoft SQL Server.
3. Perform performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization to ensure scalability.
4. Collaborate with backend developers to ensure seamless data exchange and schema alignment.
5. Implement and maintain data migration scripts, ETL processes, and backup strategies.
6. Support reporting and dashboard needs with BI tools like Power BI.
7. Ensure database security, access controls, encryption, and compliance with standards.
8. Assist in database refactoring and optimization during AWS cloud migration.
9. Document database structures, processes, and guidelines clearly for internal use.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience as an SQL Database Developer, preferably in fintech or transactional systems.
• Expert in T-SQL with proven experience in optimizing complex stored procedures and queries.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or above).
• Understanding of database normalization, performance tuning, and execution plans.
• Experience working with large datasets, data integrity constraints, and transaction management.
• Familiarity with .NET applications, Entity Framework, and API-based data access is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably AWS), including RDS and migration tools, is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of data security practices such as encryption, masking, and access control.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience with MongoDB or NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices for databases (CI/CD pipelines).
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Timing / Days: Mon to Fri (11 am to 8 pm)
• Salary: In PKR, Tax Free
