Job summary

Contour Software is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineering Lead / Automation Architect to drive automation at scale from its Karachi office. This role leads a global QA team, defines automation standards, and enhances the Playwright framework with CI/CD integration and AI-assisted tooling.

The position emphasizes test automation strategy, data-driven decisions, and release readiness in a regulated software environment, reporting to the QA leadership team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years QA/testing with enterprise-scale automation.
• Expert in Playwright, Selenium or Cypress with TS/JS skills.
• Strong engineering skills: Git, API testing, SQL, debugging, code review.
• Knowledge of Page Object Model, data-driven testing, and BDD.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Ability to scale automation through coaching and standards.
• Experience with metrics, dashboards, and KPIs to drive decisions.
• Experience in Agile environments with complex web apps.

Responsibilities

• Own QA automation strategy, architecture and standards for Playwright.
• Build scalable Playwright suites in TS/JS with robust test design.
• Collaborate with Dev and DevOps to improve regression pipelines.
• Apply AI-assisted testing tools and govern AI-generated tests.
• Lead a global QA team and set goals, development plans, and mentoring.
• Define release quality gates, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor quality.
• Perform root-cause analysis of defects and drive preventive improvements.
• Support validation/compliance in regulated software environments.
