Job summary

Ericsson in Pakistan is seeking an experienced Solution Architect for the Packet Core, Policy, and signaling domain to analyze, design, and develop end-to-end technical solutions for customers. You will translate customer needs into detailed offerings and drive efficient delivery and integration.

The role requires expert knowledge of 5G Core components, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD, with hands-on experience across controllers and policy platforms.

Qualifications

• Education: BSc in Computer Science or Telecommunication Engineering.
• Minimum 8+ years in telecom with solution architect experience.
• Deep knowledge of 5G Core, PCC/PCG, and signaling controllers.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end design, deployment and acceptance of 5G core solutions.
• Lead deployment and integration activities during projects.
• Develop technical proposals and conduct customer presentations.
• Provide feedback to R&D and participate in knowledge transfer.
• Stay informed on cloud-native architectures, microservices, and CI/CD.

About This Opportunity

We are now looking for an experienced Solution Architect in the Packet Core, Policy, and signalling domain, who will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing commercially viable end-to-end technical solutions for customers. Solution integration knowledge and capability are equally important.

In this role, you will also be accountable for providing profitable business for Ericsson by translating customer needs and technology opportunities into detailed technical offerings and facilitating efficient deliveries and integration work.

What You Will Do

• Perform solution setup, analysis and definition, end-to-end design (high and low level), deployment, and acceptance of Dual Mode 5GC, Packet Core Controller, Packet Core Gateway, Cloud Core Policy Controller, Cloud Core Resource Controller, and signalling Controller solutions and products.


• Demonstrate proven technical acumen and authority in PCC (AMF, SMF, GW-C), PCG (UPF, GW-U), Policy Controller (NRF, NSSF, PCRF, PCF), and signalling Controller (SCP, BSF, SEPP, DSC-DA/DRA/DEA).


• Define solution scope for Packet Core, Policy, Signalling, and 5G Core offerings.


• Analyze customer technology, define business requirements, and participate in risk analysis.


• Develop technical presentations and proposals and conduct customer presentations.


• Lead deployment and integration activities during the project delivery phase.


• Provide feedback to R&D teams.


• Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation, and information sharing.


• Demonstrate a strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, microservices, API ecosystems, automation, and CI/CD (GitLab/GDS/Pipeline).


• Stay abreast of new technologies and share insights to enable customer competence development.

The Skills You Bring

• Education: BSc in Computer Science or Telecommunication Engineering.


• Experience: Minimum 8+ years in the telecom industry in a similar role.


• Domain Expertise: AMF, SMF, GW-C, UPF, GW-U, NRF, NSSF, PCRF, PCF, SCP, BSF, SEPP, DSC-DA/DRA/DEA.


• Deep understanding of 5G Core Cloud-Native Applications, Cloud Infrastructure, and IP Networks.


• Experience working as a system integrator and delivering multiple projects for key customers.


• Knowledge of Ericsson Packet Core, Policy, and signalling Solutions and Portfolio.


• Experience with OpenStack, Kubernetes, and Docker.


• Experience in scripting (Shell, Python).


• Strong understanding of routing and network security.


• Certifications in networking, cloud, Kubernetes, or Linux administration are a plus.


• Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, F5, and Fortinet is a plus.
