Job summary

PostEx in Lahore is seeking an Evaluation Engineer to help validate our AI-driven and traditional products. You will build test harnesses and automated pipelines that ensure APIs, data pipelines, and UI flows work as intended before shipping.

You will partner with backend engineers to instrument systems for testability, analyze results, and report findings to stakeholders. This is an early role in the Pakistani market, with opportunities to grow as AI-assisted development evolves.

Qualifications

• 6 months–2 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Solid grasp of data structures & algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and/or React in a real codebase.
• Comfort working with AI-driven development tools (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar).
• Strong analytical mindset to interpret test output and signals.
• High eagerness to learn; market for this role is new in Pakistan.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain test harnesses to validate existing products and features — most of this is standard product/software testing, not AI-specific.
• Write scripted test suites to catch regressions, correctness issues, and edge cases across releases.
• Where relevant, evaluate AI-assisted or AI-driven components using similar harness-based approaches.
• Work closely with backend engineers (Node.js/React stack) to instrument systems for testability and observability.
• Analyze test/eval results, identify patterns and failure modes, and turn them into clear reports for engineering stakeholders.
• Continuously improve testing tooling and workflows as the product evolves.
• Stay current with AI-driven development practices as more testing involves AI-assisted code and tooling.

Our client PostEx is hiring a Software Engineer in Lahore.

About the Role:

This is a new and emerging role for the Pakistani market. As an Evaluation Engineer, you'll build the test harnesses and automated pipelines that validate our products — AI-driven and traditional alike.

Most of what you'll test isn't "an AI agent" in the buzzword sense; it's real product functionality (APIs, workflows, data pipelines, UI flows) that increasingly gets built or touched with AI-assisted development.

Your job is to make sure it actually works before it ships.

You won't be training models. You'll be writing the scripts, harnesses, and checks that catch bugs and regressions — sometimes in AI-assisted output, sometimes in plain product code — and giving engineering teams a fast, reliable signal on quality.

What You'll Do:

What We're Looking For:

• Hands-on experience with Node.js and/or React in a real codebase
• Comfort working with or curious about AI-driven development tools (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) — hobby/personal-project exposure counts
• Strong analytical mindset — able to look at test output/data and find the signal
• High eagerness to learn; there's no standard playbook for this role in Pakistan yet
• Product-based company experience is a plus, not a requirement — services/outsourcing background is fine
