Job summary

easypaisa digital bank is seeking a software engineer to design and maintain scalable applications. You will contribute to CI/CD, cloud migrations and test-driven development while collaborating with business, infrastructure and security teams.

The role requires 5–7 years of software development experience and strong Java/Spring Boot skills, plus familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker and microservices.

Job Purpose:

Develop and maintain scalable, high-quality software solutions using clean coding practices and Agile/SCRUM methodologies. Support CI/CD, cloud migration, test-driven development, code reviews, and release management to ensure reliable deployments. Collaborate with business, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver enhancements, resolve defects, and optimize production systems. Stay current with industry trends, follow corporate best practices, and provide ongoing application support, including participation in 24x7 support rotations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and build Android applications.
2. Have a passion for writing clean, consistent, and elegant code to create scalable and reliable systems
3. Contribute towards moving the team forward in leading edge processes like continuous integration, continuous delivery, cloud migration and test driven development
4. Work with defect tracking, source code control and software release systems to ensure high-quality software releases over time
5. Assist in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback
6. Contribute to the design and development process as part of a SCRUM team.
7. Transition from application development to support as needed to ensure that appropriate support is available in a timely and efficient manner.
8. Drive build and release plans and implementation of all actions required to deploy applications to production environment.
9. Assist development manager with planning, analysis and definition of high-level software strategies and solutions through functional knowledge
10. Have an understanding of the enterprise business systems and industry.
11. Have a passion for keeping yourself current with industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs
12. Ensure corporate policies and industry best practices are observed and followed in developed applications.
13. Participate in rotating 24x7 shifts to support developed products
14. Work with business, infrastructure and security teams on delivering any enhancements and bug fixes for production systems

Qualification & Experience

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Experience of at least 5 to 7 years with a Software Development

Competencies and Skills:

• Knowledge of Java and Java Spring boot framework.
• Experience with Backend Database (preferably Spanner) or NoSQL or Postgres databases
• Experience with RESTful architecture and micro services. JSON and XML is required
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and modern development practices and development lifecycle using Scrum, Kanban, Lean or other agile methodologies
• Familiarity with messaging middleware (Kafka, SQS)
• Experience with Event Driven Services
