Smart Working Solutions in Pakistan is seeking a Senior Symfony & PHP Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend systems for our products. You’ll work in an Agile team, mentoring others and shipping tested solutions that meet business needs.

This role requires proven Symfony experience—Laravel-only experience is not qualifying—and a strong focus on clean code, architecture, and collaboration with product, design, and QA teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with PHP.
• 3+ years hands-on Symfony experience.
• 2+ years writing unit tests with PHPUnit.
• Excellent communication in cross-functional teams.
• Strong experience with Object Oriented Design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend features aligned with business goals.
• Maintain and improve test coverage using PHPUnit.
• Build scalable, testable APIs and backend systems.
• Write clean, maintainable code meeting quality standards.
• Review requirements and provide technical input.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA teams.
• Monitor systems with rotating on-call duties.
• Break down large projects and guide others.
• Participate in code reviews and give feedback.
• Improve processes and suggest technical enhancements.
• Promote secure coding and document architecture.
