Job summary

TechieMinions offers an exciting, fully on-site role in Lahore for a software engineer with strong Ruby on Rails and frontend experience. You will design, build, and ship features end-to-end across the stack, leveraging AI tools like Claude and Codex to prototype and validate code with senior judgment.

You will work across diverse languages (Python, Scala, Snowflake, AWS) and frontend tech (React, Next.js, TypeScript).

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails and understanding of scalable architecture.
• Solid frontend experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript (Rails views comfortable).
• Willingness to work across multiple languages and technologies (Python, Scala, Snowflake, AWS).
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools such as Claude and Codex, including agentic pipelines.
• A can-do attitude with ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
• Excellent English communication to interact with clients professionally.
• Strong problem-solving skills and teamwork focus.

Responsibilities

Tasks

• Own the full delivery cycle — take raw, often ambiguous requirements all the way through to production, validation, and testing, with strong ownership at every stage.
• Design, build, and ship product features end-to-end across the stack, turning ideas into reliable, validated, production-grade software.
• Leverage AI coding tools and agentic pipelines (e.g., Claude and Codex) to prototype, iterate, and deliver at high velocity — while applying senior judgment to verify and harden what the tools produce.
• Work across a diversifying full-stack environment — backend primarily in Ruby on Rails, expanding into Python, Scala, Snowflake, AWS, and more; frontend spanning Rails native, React, Next.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Pick up new languages and tools quickly and apply them where they fit best.
• Drive engineering best practices — ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance, and raise the bar through thorough code reviews (including AI-assisted review).
• Contribute to critical design and architecture decisions, especially as the team adopts new technologies and scales systems.
• Own testing and validation — ensure features are well-tested and behave correctly before and after release.
• Communicate to understand the "why" — grasp the purpose and intent behind each requirement, not just the specification, so what gets built solves the real problem.
• Communicate directly with clients as needed — gather requirements, clarify intent, and give clear progress updates, representing the team professionally.
• Take ownership of outcomes, driving features from concept to validated production with urgency and focus.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails, with a solid understanding of scalable architecture and system design.
• Solid frontend experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript (and comfort with Rails-native views).
• Willingness and ability to work across multiple languages and technologies — the stack is diversifying into Python, Scala, Snowflake, AWS, and more, and you should be excited to grow with it.
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools such as Claude and Codex, including using agentic pipelines to build and review code, is a significant plus.
• A genuine can-do attitude — willing to push toward limits, take on hard problems, and figure things out independently.
• Excellent English communication — a confident communicator who can interact professionally with clients, ask the right questions, and understand the reasoning behind the work rather than just building to spec.
• Strong sense of ownership and a genuine team-player mindset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business goals into reliable, working software.

This is a 5-day onsite role in Lahore.
