Role Summary
EssenceMediacom, a brand of WPP Media, is looking for a Senior Media Planner. In this role, you will be responsible for all tasks and client‑service activities associated with an assigned brand/account. You will act as a steward of the entire communications‑planning process by providing pillars for media plans, executing plan changes, and maintaining media plans.
Reporting
This role reports to the Business Manager.
Short‑Term Goals (First 3 Months)
- Become proficient with our proprietary planning tools and analytics.
- Develop an understanding of the business category and competitive framework.
- Work on moderate‑scale live campaigns.
- Initiate contact with key media partners and understand their digital offering baseline.
- Collaborate with internal specialists and external stakeholders to integrate solutions.
Mid‑Term Goals (6 Months)
- Apply the proprietary planning framework to key campaigns.
- Launch larger‑scaled campaigns.
- Build relationships with key decision makers within the current client portfolio.
- Master a flawless media execution process together with stakeholders.
Long‑Term Goals (12 Months)
- Develop strong category acumen from a media and business perspective.
- Identify commercially viable solutions to support client goals.
- Create and execute a pipeline of business‑building ideas that could be award‑winning.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Develop strategy for brands, including annual phasing and budgeting to achieve brand KPIs.
- Assist the Client/Brand Manager or Business Manager in maintaining responsive working relationships with brand teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with media/account teams and media vendors.
- Assist in developing brand KPIs.
- Analyze data to provide optimization recommendations.
- Maintain relationships with media suppliers, internal teams, and brand teams.
- Prepare quarterly/annual media reviews and way‑forward recommendations.
- Deliver timely presentations and reports, including annual media strategy and ad hoc deliverables.
- Resolve billing related issues.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with client management team and account directors.
- Coordinate with cross‑function departments during media management processes.
- Present launch results to brand teams.
- Participate in regional awards (at least once per quarter).
- Train Assistant Planner/Media Planner on media basics.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Strong organizational and numeracy skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage competing demands.
Minimum Qualifications
- BBA or MBA from a reputable university.
- At least 3 years of media, digital, or marketing experience.
