Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc seeks a Mechanical Engineer III to join our Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives. You will drive cost reduction while maintaining performance in vibration, structural dynamics and noise control for high-precision instruments.

You will design and analyze mechanical systems, mentor junior engineers, lead DFMEA-related activities, and collaborate with global teams and suppliers to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 9+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong background in vibration, dynamics and acoustics.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize mechanical systems with focus on vibration control and acoustics.
• Perform vibration, structural dynamics, and acoustic analyses using FEA tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with global teams.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives via VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering).
• Support design reviews and DFMEA activities.
