The ideal candidate for this role will have strong hands‑on experience leading enterprise monitoring transformations, particularly migrating from SolarWinds to LogicMonitor. They should possess deep expertise in LogicMonitor administration, collector deployment, infrastructure onboarding, monitoring and alert configuration, dashboard development, ITSM integrations, and production cutovers across Windows, Linux, AIX, network, storage, and virtualized environments.
Responsibilities
- Assess the existing SolarWinds environment, including NPM, SAM, SRM, and VMAN, and map monitoring configurations to LogicMonitor.
- Plan and execute the migration, including collector architecture, deployment, high availability, failover, and infrastructure onboarding.
- Deploy and configure LogicMonitor Collectors, device groups, DataSources, LogicModules, dashboards, alert rules, thresholds, and notification policies.
- Configure infrastructure discovery and bulk device onboarding using CSV files and REST APIs.
- Implement monitoring for Windows, Linux, and AIX servers, VMware, Hyper‑V, network devices, storage systems, and enterprise applications.
- Configure monitoring using SNMP v2/v3, WMI, SSH, WinRM, and REST APIs.
- Migrate and validate existing SolarWinds monitoring templates, alert rules, escalation workflows, and reporting capabilities.
- Develop operational and executive dashboards for infrastructure health, availability, performance, and capacity monitoring.
- Integrate LogicMonitor with ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms for automated incident creation, alert routing, and escalation.
- Execute proof‑of‑concept activities, parallel monitoring, user acceptance testing, production cutover, and go‑live validation.
- Troubleshoot collector, connectivity, credentials, discovery, and monitoring configuration issues.
- Prepare technical documentation, as‑built configurations, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and operations teams to ensure a smooth migration and production handover.
