Job summary

HR POD Careers is seeking an experienced Linux systems administrator to manage a large fleet of Linux servers across bare-metal and cloud environments. You will troubleshoot complex OS and kernel issues, design scalable networking, and deploy high-throughput NFS storage for demanding workloads.

The role emphasizes automation with Ansible, IaC, and strong observability using Grafana. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, solid Linux internals knowledge, and hands-on networking

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration or infrastructure engineering at scale.
Strong knowledge of Linux internals with hands-on troubleshooting across OS, kernel, storage, and performance.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals with hands-on network troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with NFS and other shared storage in production.
Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
Experience with Grafana, ServiceNow, and JIRA.
Bash and Python scripting for automation.
Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience operating GPU servers, HPC, or AI infrastructure.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Slurm, or other cluster schedulers.
Exposure to Lustre, GPFS/Spectrum Scale, or Ceph.
Knowledge of InfiniBand/RDMA and high-performance networking.
Familiarity with AI coding tools like Claude or OpenAI to accelerate automation.
Relevant certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, CCNA, or cloud provider certs.

Responsibilities

Administer, patch, and harden a large fleet of Linux servers (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu) across bare-metal and cloud.
Troubleshoot OS, kernel, performance, and hardware issues to identify root causes.
Design, configure, and manage TCP/IP networking (routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, bonding).
Deploy and manage NFS storage and other shared file systems for high-throughput workloads.
Automate provisioning, configuration, and remediation using Ansible and IaC.
Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboards using Grafana.
Manage workflows through ServiceNow and JIRA.
Own capacity planning, OS lifecycle management, standardized builds, image management.
Collaborate with Platform Engineering and SRE on reliability and security.
Document standards, runbooks, and procedures; reduce operational toil.
