Job summary

LIPTON Teas and Infusions in Karachi seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to guide commercial and governance matters. You will independently draft contracts, lead finalization of commercial agreements, and manage assigned litigation with a view to minimizing risk.

You will partner with cross-functional teams across the organization on commercial, IP, HR, IR, competition law and data privacy, while maintaining strict corporate records and board/minutes in line with governance standards.

Qualifications

• LLB degree from a recognized local or foreign university.
• LLM degree in Corporate Law will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Independently draft contracts and take lead for finalization of commercial agreements.
• Manage assigned litigation cases and closely monitor progress of legal proceedings to minimise risk of adverse outcome.
• Attend court hearings of assigned cases to assess performance of outside counsel.
• Act as a legal business partner whilst ensuring cross-functional collaboration with the company on a broad range of contractual and legal matters.
• Maintain strict compliance with corporate regulations, preparing board and members minutes, and maintaining accurate corporate governance records.
• Provide legal advice with risk assessment on a wide variety of subject areas related but not limited to commercial, Intellectual Property, HR, IR, competition law and data privacy.
