Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Backend focused) with 5+ years of experience to design, develop, and deliver high-quality software across frontend and backend systems in a cloud-native environment. You will own infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a DevOps focus.
• Strong knowledge in web development with at least 3 years hands-on experience.
• Deep understanding of DevOps fundamentals and rapid software delivery practices.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Ansible, and Linux system administration.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code technologies.
• Proficient in database management and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management, deployment, and automation across Linux environments.
• Develop custom Ansible modules and plugins in Python to extend automation capabilities.
• Automate server management and operational tasks using Python and Bash.
• Design infrastructure architecture for services, focusing on scalability and security.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Manage Kubernetes (EKS) clusters end to end, RBAC, Helm, ingress, and autoscaling.
• Implement GitOps with ArgoCD and Argo Workflows.
• Write infrastructure as code with Terraform for AWS and other providers.
• Implement observability, logging, metrics, and monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with security to remediate vulnerabilities and manage secrets.
