Job summary

Dubizzle Labs in Lahore is seeking an experienced backend engineer to scale our world-class platforms across 10 countries. You will own core services, mentor peers, and push architectural boundaries while balancing technical ambition with business goals.

You will design and implement REST-based APIs, contribute to reliability and performance, and lead reviews of major pull requests in a collaborative, peer-programming environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Python preferred.
• Experience with cloud-hosted infrastructure; AWS preferred.
• Experience with Kubernetes & Docker.
• Experience with high-traffic web products.
• Experience with web infrastructure, SOA, distributed systems, performance analysis, search infrastructure.
• Design patterns including asynchronous programming, queuing, logging, security and persistence.
• Caching (memcached).
• Build processes and CI/CD.
• Testing methodologies (unit, integration, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Gather up-to-date understanding of the codebase and tech stack.
• Lead planning sessions for new features and rollout strategies.
• Design and implement REST-based APIs and services.
• Mentor peers in a peer-programming environment and review major PRs.
• Ensure reliability and performance of platforms at scale.
• Contribute to post-release maintenance and product direction.
