Job summary

Dubizzle Labs in Lahore is looking for an experienced backend software engineer to support the hyper-growth of our platforms across 10 countries. You will build world-class suite products, mentor teammates, and drive reliability and performance across the codebase.

We value leaders who can plan features, review pull requests, design REST APIs, and balance technical ambition with business goals. AWS, Kubernetes, Docker and Python experience are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience; Python preferred.
• Experience with Cloud hosted infrastructure; AWS preferred.
• Prior experience with Kubernetes & Docker.
• Experience with high-traffic and large-scale web products.
• Experience with web infrastructure, SOA, distributed systems, performance analysis, search infrastructure.
• Mastery of testing methodologies (unit tests, integration tests, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Hit the ground running - Gather up-to-date understanding of the code base and technologies stack.
• Lead planning sessions around new product features and roll-out/roll-back strategies.
• Research and apply industry trends as part of daily work.
• Create unit tests in accordance with established standards.
• Write and maintain exemplary code following programming practices.
• Contribute in post-release maintenance issues.
• Develop elegant solutions for complex problems.
• Pioneer reliability and efficiency of code bases and platforms.
• Mentor peers and provide guidance on tasks of varying complexity.
• Review major pull requests and define programming standards.
