Job summary

Mashreq is seeking an Audit in Charge in Pakistan to lead a small/medium audit team, execute the audit plan in line with standards, and deliver high-quality reports and action plan validation. The role requires broad knowledge of audit standards, risk areas, and regulatory compliance, with strong communication to senior management.

The incumbent will supervise reviews, manage budgets, and develop relationships across business lines to safeguard the bank's interests.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA or equivalent.
• Experience in Business Analytics and Risk Management is preferred.
• Solid understanding of Wholesale Credit Risk Management concepts.
• Senior level Internal Audit experience with portfolio delivery.
• Experience in managing teams and integrated audit/assurance delivery.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Articulate and effective communicator, both oral and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills across levels of management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Offsite/Onsite Review functions and surface risks early.
• Ensure compliance with systems, procedures, and credit policy.
• Review credits onsite and offsite; assign timely risk ratings.
• Monitor action plans and ensure timely closure.
• As Audit in Charge, supervise exams and ensure plans are followed.
• Provide recommendations to improve processes to safeguard the bank.
• Maintain objectivity and ensure buy-in from reviewees.
• Provide coaching onsite and offsite.
• Develop relationships with line management to facilitate communication.
• Manage monitoring of allocated units to identify risks early.
