Job summary

Mashreq Bank PSC in Pakistan seeks an experienced Internal Audit leader to execute the audit plan across assigned businesses and lead a small-to-mid sized team. You will deliver high‑quality audit reports and validate Internal Audit action plans while advancing analytics and technology usage.

The role requires senior expertise in wholesale credit risk, regulatory awareness, and strong communication to influence diverse audiences across the bank.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in Business Analytics and Risk Management preferred.
• Solid understanding of Wholesale Credit Risk Management concepts.
• Senior level experience in internal audit and/or wholesale credit risk with delivery of high‑quality deliverables.
• Experience in managing teams and integrated internal audit and assurance delivery.
• Effective negotiation skills with proactive, independent communication.
• Articulate and effective communicator, both oral and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills across all levels of internal/external audit and management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the assigned offsite/on-site review functions to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with systems, procedures, and review criteria; maintain professional efficiency.
• Review credits on/offsite; assign risk ratings in a timely, objective manner.
• Monitor action plan closures and ensure timely resolutions.
• As Audit in Charge, supervise exams and ensure review plans are followed and risks are surfaced.
• Provide recommendations to improve processes to safeguard the bank's interests.
• Ensure objective reviews with clear communication and buy-in from reviewees.
• Provide coaching and guidance, onsite and offsite.
• Develop relationships with line management to facilitate acceptance of findings.
• Monitor allocated business units for early risk identification.
