Job summary

Mashreq is seeking a qualified Banking Operations professional to manage investigation query processing within CPC team. You will handle cross-border payments inquiries, including returns and SOF, ensuring timely responses per SLA and coordinating with operations, business lines and customer service desks to close cases.

The role requires 3–5 years in banking operations, strong knowledge of SWIFT MT and MX messages, Nostro/Vostro accounts, and compliance awareness.

Qualifications

• Graduate with 3-5 years of diversified experience in banking operations.
• Strong knowledge of SWIFT MT types MT199, MT195, MT196, MT192, MT999, MT103, MT202 and MT202COV.
• Knowledge of MX messages pacs.008, pacs.009 and pacs.009 COV.
• Knowledge of Nostro and Vostro accounts.
• Awareness of Compliance/AML/Regulatory Requirements.
• Conversant with in-house operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Process investigation query messages (return of funds, amended payments, recalls, OFAC/FATF related) per SLA.
• Coordinate with operations, business lines and customer service to close cases.
• Analyze recurrent queries and suggest process improvements to reduce repeats.
• Ensure queries are processed in accordance with SOPs.
• Seek guidance from seniors when in doubt to ensure accurate processing.

Job description

• Processing of investigation query messages such as return of funds, unable to apply, amendment, BCNR, recall of funds, OFAC, FATF.
• Working knowledge of payment processing both outward and inward.
• Ensuring response to all queries as per SLA, prioritization of sensitive messages, maintaining close co-ordination with other banks, operations team, business line and customer service desk to facilitate case closure.
• Analyzing recurrent queries and working with Associate manager to suggest process improvements to reduce repetitive queries.
• Manage investigation based on the agreed matrices with business.

Key Result Areas –

• Acquire thorough knowledge of cross border payments and handling investigation queries-incoming and outgoing for payments handled by CPC team.
• Ensure prompt processing of queries, to avoid delay in transfer of funds/return of funds.
• Suggest improvements in current processes.
• Ensure processing of query messages as per defined SOP.
• Seek guidance from seniors in case of doubt, for accurate and result oriented processing of messages.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience –

• Graduate with at least 3-5 years of diversified experience in banking operations covering a wide range of banking products and services.
• Good working knowledge of various SWIFT message types such as MT199, MT195, MT196, MT192, MT999, MT103, MT202 and MT202COV as well as MX messages such as pacs.008, pacs.009 and pacs.009 COV
• Good knowledge of Nostro and vostro accounts.
• Awareness of Compliance/AML/Regulatory Requirements.
• Conversant with the in-house various operating systems.
