8 Figure Finance is a fully remote outsourced accounting firm. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to own the month-end close for a portfolio of clients and mentor Accountants in your pod, ensuring accurate numbers and timely closes.

You will manage AR/AP and handle complex accruals, revenue recognition, prepaids, and deferred revenue under US GAAP/IFRS, collaborating across QuickBooks Online and Xero. This role offers a clear path to Project Lead and a high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, ACCA, or CA, or actively pursuing certification.
• Must have worked in US Accounting.
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public or outsourced accounting.
• Has owned month-end close for multiple clients or entities.
• Strong command of accrual accounting and financial reporting (US GAAP, IFRS).

Responsibilities

• Own the close for assigned clients across Pre-Close, Reconcile, Review, and Finalize.
• Prepare complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Lead cash-to-accrual conversions and cleanup work within your pod.
• Run client AR/AP workflows in our technology stack, covering bill capture and coding, approval routing, and payment staging.
• Manage invoicing and collections follow-up, keeping aging reports current.
• Supervise and develop Accountants on your pod.
• Support Project Lead with client questions and deliverables.
• Grow into the Project Lead role through mentoring and development.

8 Figure Finance (8FF) is a fully remote outsourced accounting firm that runs the books for growing businesses. We handle the monthly close, reconciliations, technology-driven AR/AP management, and financial reporting, so our clients get accurate, on-time numbers without building an in-house finance team.

We are built on systems. Every client has documented SOPs, every close follows the same four phases (Pre-Close, Reconcile, Review, Finalize), and every client’s books are closed by the 10th business day. Our team works in small pods. Each pod is led by a Project Lead with a Senior Accountant and Accountants underneath, so you always know who owns what and where a decision gets made.

We hold a high bar for accountability. You own your work and your clients’ results, and we expect you to think critically rather than just execute. That means asking why a number moved, not only whether it ties. It also means questioning the process behind the number: why a step exists, where it breaks, and how to make it better. The best people on our team don’t wait to be told something is wrong. They spot it, find the root cause, and fix it so it doesn’t happen again.

As we grow, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join one of our pods. You’ll own the close for a portfolio of clients, review the work of the Accountants on your pod, and be the person they come to when something doesn’t tie out. This is the execution-and-review layer of our delivery team, and it is the direct path to Project Lead.

The Role

In this role, you will:

• Own month-end close for a portfolio of clients, from reconciliations through financial statements, on our 10th-business-day timeline
• Manage client AR/AP through our technology stack, from bill intake and approvals through payment staging, invoicing, and collections
• Handle complex accounting such as accrual conversions, revenue recognition, prepaids and deferred revenue, fixed assets, and debt
• Train and develop the Accountants on your pod
• Keep client SOPs current as processes change
• Work across QuickBooks Online and Xero

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

Experience

• Strong command of accrual accounting and financial reporting (US GAAP, IFRS)
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Xero
• Experience with AR/AP automation platforms
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets
• Clear, professional communication skills; strong English required
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting & Close

• Own the close for assigned clients across Pre-Close, Reconcile, Review, and Finalize

• Prepare client-ready financial statements, schedules, and documentation
• Support your Project Lead with answers to client questions
