World Business Lenders seeks an Accounting Team Lead to manage accrual accounting for loan-related income and expenses under US GAAP. Lead two analysts and ensure a 10-business-day close. Contribute to monthly and yearly financial reporting and determine appropriate accounting treatments for new transactions to maintain accuracy and timeliness.

The role is fully remote with standard ET working hours and requires strong English communication and remote work setup.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of accounting experience with US GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with financial reporting and accounting processes.
• Experience leading or supervising accounting team members.

Responsibilities

• Prepare FAS 91 working papers for deferred income and expense accounting.
• Reconcile loan collections with bank activity and post journal entries.
• Calculate asset resolution gains and losses.
• Account for interest expense and interest income.
• Account for prepaid expenses.
• Account for loan suspense adjustments and related income/expenses.
• Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet items.
• Lead a team of 2 Accounting Analysts and ensure timely delivery.
• Contribute to monthly and yearly financial reporting.
• Determine accounting treatment for new transactions/events.

Overview

• We are looking for an Accounting Team Lead to join our Finance team. The role will manage the accrual side of accounting for key operations of the company, including loan-related income and expenses, in accordance with US GAAP.
• The Accounting Team Lead will contribute significantly to the company’s monthly and yearly financial reporting. The role requires experience with accounting for companies operating under US GAAP.
• The Accounting Team Lead will lead a team of analysts, ensuring their work is accurate and completed on time to meet the 10-business-day closing deadline. The role will also be responsible for determining the appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions and events as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare FAS 91 working papers for deferred income and expense accounting.

Typical Day-to-Day

A typical day or week in this role may include:

• Posting loan activity, including loan collections, debt payments, and interest payments.
• Reviewing the work of analysts on a weekly basis.
• Preparing weekly asset resolution gain/loss calculations and accounting for the related activity.

Role Requirements

• Education
  • Graduation/Post-Graduation in Accounting
  • Intermediate Chartered Accountancy (Inter-CA)

• Experience
  • 5–10 years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience applying US GAAP.
  • Experience with financial reporting and accounting processes.
  • Experience leading or supervising accounting team members.

• Work Requirements
  • Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Eastern Time.
  • Must have a stable internet connection and professional remote working setup.
