Job summary

We are seeking a qualified educator to teach Social Studies and Pakistan Studies to Years 7 and 8. The role emphasizes engaging lesson planning, critical thinking, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment in alignment with the National Curriculum.

Responsibilities include delivering lessons, assessing student progress, integrating technology, and providing individual support as needed. Collaboration with colleagues and adaptability to feedback are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Pakistan Studies, History, Political Science, Geography, International Relations, or a related field.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Social Studies and Pakistan Studies to Years 7 & 8.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engaging lesson plans that incorporate active learning strategies to enhance students’ understanding of Social Studies.
• Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, inquiry, and responsible citizenship through meaningful classroom discussions and activities.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, participation, and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Provide individual academic support and guidance to students whenever required.
• Plan, deliver, and assess lessons for Years 7 & 8, ensuring students are well prepared for assessments.
• Utilise technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum and incorporate it into daily teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
• Design, prepare, and evaluate formative and summative assessments, including test and examination papers, in accordance with curriculum requirements.
• Be organised, observant, adaptable, willing to take on challenges, and receptive to implementing feedback.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, share responsibilities, and contribute positively to the department and the school community.
