Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking a Safety Engineer for on-site work in Rawalpindi to drive safety planning and compliance across the plant. The role focuses on establishing emergency response, spill prevention, and fire-fighting plans, with ongoing coaching on safe work practices and incident prevention.

Responsibilities include conducting HIRA, supervising drills, and monthly site inspections, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and continuous improvement in safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Safety manual, emergency response plan, spill prevention plan & fire fighting plan of Plant.
• Observe work in progress, ensures that proper safety equipment is worn and procedures are followed.
• Implementation of Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) at site.
• Make recommendation for correction and follow up to ensure that violations have been corrected.
• Review of Incident / Accident & makes recommendation for prevention of similar future accidents.
• Report Near miss
• Training of employees on safe work practices, Fire Fighting, emergency response plan FirstAid.
• Supervise Fire Drill at site.
• Perform monthly inspection at site.
