The Aga Khan University Medical College (MC) was established in 1983, as a part of the Aga Khan University’s Faculty of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. It works closely with the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the University Hospital to produce excellence in educational programs and medical practice.

The Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research (CRM) is a part of the MC. The Aga Khan University (AKU) has partnered with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) - an internationally renowned Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research, in developing and evolving The Aga Khan University Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research (CRM). The Centre has a state-of-the-art facility for multi-disciplinary researchers to undertake cutting-edge research on stem cell and regenerative medicine. CRM nurtures young researchers (scientists and clinical scientists) in an environment that fosters learning and innovation.

CRM is inviting applications for the position of Research Associate, Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research (CRM).

Responsibilities
  • Reporting directly to the Principal Investigator (PI), the incumbent will be responsible for:
  • conducting wet lab supervised research related to the project
  • conducting daily, weekly, and monthly inventory of consumables/reagents required for the team
  • keeping record of procurement, follow-ups, receipts of supplies etc.
  • participating in weekly project meetings, journal clubs, research in progress meetings, and delivering presentations as directed by the assigned faculty
  • assisting with writing manuscripts, annual reports, and others.
Requirements
  • minimal master’s degree
  • one year of experience in the field of biological science research (Fresh candidates can also apply)
  • strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks
  • competent in computer usage with command over Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • sound communication skills: fluent in English speaking and writing
  • strong interpersonal and mediation skills.
