Job description

This position is responsible for carrying out detailed quantitative and qualitative research on gender parity. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to highlight key trends, gaps, and challenges. By applying statistical analysis and evidence-based assessments, the position contributes to developing well-informed chapters of the Gender Parity Report.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Research & Analysis:
    • Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative research studies focusing on gender parity and related thematic area chapter wise.
    • Review, synthesize, and analyze national and international literature, reports, and case studies to strengthen evidence-based advocacy and programming.
    • Assist in the development, testing, and refinement of data collection tools (e.g., surveys, questionnaires, focus group guides, checklists) ensuring alignment with research objectives.
    • Carry out data cleaning, validation, and statistical analysis of information received from provincial departments Sindh i-e: Education, Health, Police, Justice, other relevant departments and partner organizations.
    • Collaborate closely with the Director (Program), Statistician, and Senior Research Analyst in drafting the Sindh Gender Parity Report, thematic policy briefs, and other flagship research outputs.
    • Familiarity with Research tools and to ability to translate collected data into actionable forms.
    • Translate research findings into clear and actionable knowledge products, including summaries, infographics, briefing notes, and technical reports.
    • Support the regular review, refinement, and updating of thematic areas, indicators, and methodologies within the GMIS Indicator Framework to ensure relevance and accuracy
  • Advocacy & Communication:
    • Assist in developing the GMIS Advocacy Plan based on findings from the Sindh Gender Parity Report.
    • Develop presentations related to GMIS, Sindh Gender Parity Report findings, and other Human Rights Department initiatives.
    • Conduct research and draft speeches to be delivered by the Director and Senior Management of HRD.
    • Work closely with the Director (Program) and Graphic Designer to develop communications materials related to GMIS.
    • Maintain HRD presence on social media and promote GMIS through digital platforms.
  • Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work with the Lead, Gender Specialist and Project Team to ensure regular updates to GMIS.
    • Coordinate and maintain an effective flow of information within the team for smooth functioning.
    • Attend events, meetings, orientation and training sessions relevant to GMIS.
    • Assist in organizing events, meetings, and developing related materials.
    • Undertake field visits as required with approval from the Program or any other authority
    • Coordinate with Multisectoral Govt Departments to convert the data into research forms.
Job Requirements:
  • Master’s /Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Data Sciences, Statistics, or any related field from an HEC-recognized university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in research and analysis within social sector projects.
  • Experience in legal research related to gender rights, policy analysis, or advocacy is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, research methodologies, and report writing and familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research tools.
  • Strong IT and communication skills for data management, presentation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to undertake field visits as required
  • Carry out any other task assigned by the supervisor
