Genifem is offering a Software Engineering Intern role designed for hands-on coding on active client builds and live AI deployments. You will support an AI Automation Lead and a Full Stack Developer, writing production-ready code (Node.js and Python) that ships to clients and contributes to real product delivery.

This 90-day pathway leads to a full-time Software Engineer position based on performance, with a remote, independent-contractor engagement, paid monthly in USD.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently graduated with a CS/SE degree or equivalent self-taught experience with demonstrated work.
• Proficient in Python and/or JavaScript (Node.js) with solid programming fundamentals.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and using modern web frameworks.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills with methodical problem solving.
• Portfolio, live project URL, or GitHub profile showing real code.
• Comfort working asynchronously in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of AI automations, workflows, and multi-system integrations.
• Contribute clean, maintainable code to core platform (Node.js) and automation layer (Python).
• Collaborate with engineers to understand use cases and technical requirements.
• Participate in sprint planning, task estimation, and peer code reviews.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize live client systems and workflows.
• Utilize AI coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in daily development.
