Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a Punjabi Language Specialist to review AI-generated Punjabi content and write high-quality reference material. You will assess accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, and cultural suitability, while identifying errors and suggesting rewrites.

You will work remotely on an hourly contractor basis, delivering precise feedback across time zones and contributing to training data for leading AI models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Linguistics, Punjabi/English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or related field.
• Native or near-native Punjabi proficiency (reading and writing).
• Strong professional English (C1) to provide feedback in English.
• 3+ years of language-focused writing/editing/translation/QA experience.
• Deep understanding of Punjabi grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style.
• Familiarity with Gurmukhi (India) and/or Shahmukhi (Pakistan) scripts.
• Ability to handle formal/informal registers and dialect variation.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI training content: prompts and gold-standard Punjabi answers across domains.
• Evaluate and rank AI outputs for fluency, tone, and cultural appropriateness.
• Detect unsafe or biased content, validate reliability, and provide model feedback.
