The role emphasizes clear explanations, hands-on coding, code reviews, and collaboration with the Big Brains team to ensure curriculum quality and student success.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience building production ready REST APIs.
• Good understanding of backend development and API architecture.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization.
• Experience with SQLAlchemy or similar ORM technologies.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Ability to guide students through practical projects.
• Teaching, mentoring or content creation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and structure FastAPI course content according to an agreed curriculum.
• Deliver clear and practical FastAPI lessons.
• Explain backend development concepts in a simple and understandable manner.
• Teach students how to build REST APIs using FastAPI.
• Guide students through practical projects and assignments.
• Explain database integration and data management.
• Teach authentication and authorization concepts.
• Demonstrate API validation, error handling and documentation.
• Teach integration of FastAPI with frontend apps and external services.
• Demonstrate deployment and production practices where applicable.
• Review student projects and provide feedback.
• Answer student questions related to the course and projects.
• Ensure all demonstrated code is functional, tested and organized.
• Coordinate with Big Brains team regarding course structure and progress.
