System Heuristics is seeking a backend engineer to design, implement, and maintain high-performance server-side logic and API services using FastAPI. You will collaborate with frontend and DevOps teams to deliver robust microservices in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• BSCS or equivalent in Computer Science.
• 2+ years of professional Python backend development.
• Proven experience with FastAPI or similar ASGI frameworks.
• Strong relational and NoSQL DB knowledge (PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB/Redis).
• Solid REST principles and async programming understanding.
• Hands-on Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP services.
• Exposure to event-driven architecture and message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Comfort with Agile/Scrum processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RESTful and WebSocket APIs with FastAPI.
• Architect and build scalable microservices.
• Integrate third-party services and databases.
• Write clean, testable Python code.
• Optimize performance, troubleshoot and debug backend systems.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and monitoring.
• Work cross-functionally with frontend and product teams.
