Job summary

SGS is seeking a QC Inspector Mechanical on a contract basis in Karachi for six months. The role requires residency in Karachi and a diploma/degree in mechanical or related discipline.

You will oversee QC inspection of pressure vessels, columns, and related equipment in oil and gas or petrochemical projects, reading drawings, WPS/PQR, ITPs and NDT reports.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding Engineering or related discipline.
• Relevant experience in QC inspection of pressure vessels, columns and associated equipment in oil & gas, petrochemical or process plant projects.
• Valid inspection certifications such as CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS-CWI, ASNT Level II, PCN or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ASME VIII, IX, V and API/ASTM/AWS standards.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, WPS/PQR, ITPs, MTCs and NDT reports.

Experience: Relevant experience in QC inspection of pressure vessels, columns and associated equipment in oil & gas, petrochemical or process plant projects.

Certification: Valid and current inspection certification applicable to the discipline, such as CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS-CWI, ASNT Level II, PCN or equivalent recognized certification.

Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, ASME Section IX, ASME Section V and applicable API/ASTM/AWS standards.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, WPS/PQR, ITPs, MTCs and NDT reports.
