Job summary

Velosi Asset Integrity Limited seeks an experienced Advanced NDT Inspector to perform comprehensive non-destructive testing across various industries. You will interpret inspection data per international codes, prepare detailed reports, calibrate equipment, and ensure strict HSE compliance at project sites in Lahore, Pakistan.

The role requires a technical degree in Mechanical/Metallurgy or Materials Engineering, with at least three years of NDT experience and Level II certifications in multiple

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of proven experience as an Advanced NDT Inspector.
• Valid ASNT, ISO 9712, or PCN Level II certifications in at least two advanced NDT methods (e.g., PAUT, TOFD, LRUT, ECT, or IRIS).
• Technical degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Thorough knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and client specifications.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in MS Office and NDT data acquisition/reporting software.

Responsibilities

• Perform NDT inspections using PAUT, TOFD, LRUT, ECT, IRIS and other methods.
• Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results per codes, standards, and client specs.
• Prepare comprehensive inspection reports with data, analysis, defect characterization, and recommendations.
• Set up, calibrate, verify, and maintain NDT equipment for accurate results.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, including radiation safety where RT is performed.
• Assist in developing and implementing NDT procedures and work instructions.
• Coordinate with clients, QA/QC, engineers, and project stakeholders regarding inspection activities.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, calibrations, certifications, and documentation.
• Perform surface preparation and site verification before NDT activities.
• Travel to project sites including fabrication shops, refineries, and industrial facilities.
• Review applicable standards and project procedures during inspection activities.
• Provide technical guidance to junior NDT personnel.
• Participate in internal quality audits and client inspections.
• Support continuous improvement of inspection procedures and quality systems.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of NDT equipment and accessories.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections using advanced and conventional inspection techniques, including but not limited to:

• Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)
• Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD)
• Long Range Ultrasonic Testing (LRUT)
• Eddy Current Testing (ECT)
• IRIS Tube Inspection
• Conventional Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Visual Testing (VT), where qualified.

2. Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results in accordance with applicable international codes, standards, client specifications, and acceptance criteria (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM, ISO).

3. Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, including inspection data, analysis, defect characterization, and recommendations where applicable.

4. Set up, calibrate, verify, and maintain NDT equipment to ensure accurate, reliable, and repeatable inspection results.

5. Ensure compliance with all company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, including radiation safety requirements where Radiographic Testing (RT) is performed.

6. Assist in the development, review, validation, and implementation of NDT procedures, inspection techniques, and work instructions.

7. Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, QA/QC personnel, engineers, supervisors, and other project stakeholders regarding inspection activities and findings.

8. Maintain accurate and traceable records of inspections, equipment calibration, certifications, and quality documentation.

9. Perform necessary surface preparation and inspection area verification before conducting NDT activities.

10. Travel and work at various project sites, including fabrication shops, construction sites, refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, and other industrial facilities, as required.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Access, review, and apply applicable international standards, codes, specifications, and project procedures during inspection activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior NDT personnel, where required.
• Participate in internal quality audits, client inspections, and technical meetings related to NDT activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to inspection procedures, techniques, and quality systems.
• Ensure proper care, handling, storage, and maintenance of NDT equipment and accessories.

As our ideal candidate, you should have:

• Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience as an Advanced NDT Inspector.
• Valid ASNT, ISO 9712, or PCN Level II certifications in at least two (2) or more advanced NDT methods (e.g., PAUT, TOFD, LRUT, ECT, or IRIS). Certification in conventional NDT methods will be considered an added advantage.
• Technical degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant professional certifications are mandatory.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable international standards and codes, including ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and client-specific specifications.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex inspection data and accurately assess discontinuities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional technical reports.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in the use of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and NDT data acquisition/reporting software.
