Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)

Job Summary

The psychologist will provide mental health and psychosocial support services, including individual and group counselling and psychotherapy.

Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based psychological services for clients and their families with mental health conditions and psychosocial issues.
  • Engage with clinical and supportive supervision.
  • Work as part of a mental health case management team along with other service providers.
  • Support the delivery of trainings for staff on topics relevant to psychological practice and case management.
  • Develop care plans that are individualized and mutually developed with the client.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk assessments and advise staff on carrying out risk assessments and the development of safety plans.
  • Remain up to date on evidence-based psychological interventions and advances in the field of psychology.
  • Remind professional development opportunities.
  • Promote Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) through community-based activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in psychology and/or holding a license to practice psychology is essential.
  • Experience with an NGO (preferred).
  • 3+ years’ experience in mental health preferred.
  • Master at least one psychotherapy technique.
  • Knowledge in protection, especially as it relates to people with mental health and psychosocial concerns (preferred).
  • Must be computer literate, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in low resource contexts.
  • Good ability to work in a multiethnic environment.
  • Interest in learning and continued professional development.
  • Arabic and English language ability is essential.
  • Experience working with a non-governmental organization and/or with refugees (preferred).
Additional Technical or Language Requirements

Languages required: English, Urdu, Pushto, Sindhi.
