Job summary

READ Foundation seeks a Project Director – Balochistan Portfolio to provide strategic leadership for our education programmes in Nok Kundi, Balochistan. You will guide planning, delivery and quality assurance across the portfolio, while building partnerships with government and communities.

You will oversee budgeting, monitoring and risk management, supporting the project team to achieve educational objectives and sustainable growth with integrity and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for education programmes across the Balochistan portfolio.
• Lead project planning, implementation and quality assurance to ensure timely delivery.
• Supervise and mentor the Project Manager and provide leadership to the wider project team.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with government departments, communities and institutional partners.
• Represent the organization in high-level meetings, forums and stakeholder engagements.
• Review and approve project plans, progress reports and operational updates.
• Ensure effective monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of school performance.
• Oversee budgeting, resource utilization and operational coordination with support departments.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding standards and legal requirements.
• Identify partnership and funding opportunities and support proposal development.
• Monitor project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Promote a culture of accountability, integrity and high-quality service delivery.

Job description

The Project Director – Balochistan Portfolio provides strategic leadership for READ Foundation’s project in Nok Kundi, District Chagai , ensuring effective project delivery, operational excellence, quality education, and sustainable programme growth. The role leads stakeholder engagement, strengthens partnerships with government and communities, ensures compliance with organizational standards, and supports the project team in achieving READ Foundation’s mission and educational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for education programmes across the Balochistan portfolio.

Requirements

Education: Master’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Business Administration, Public Policy or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in education, development or project management.

Leadership: At least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.

Project Management: Demonstrated experience managing large-scale education programmes.

Stakeholder Management: Strong experience working with government, communities and institutional partners.

Financial Skills: Knowledge of budgeting, reporting and operational planning.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu.

Travel: Willingness to travel regularly to remote and field locations in Balochistan.
