Company

This role will be responsible for product development and its marketing through:

  1. Product Creation and ongoing maintenance of competitive product/market comparisons by himself or in coordination with his Marketing team.
  2. Work as both Product Development Manager and Marketing Manager; researching product ideas, market opportunities and trends that lead to development of new products, features, and benefits.
  3. Working closely with clients and prospects to gauge market conditions and understand pre/post customer purchase needs.
  4. Determines product launch marketing goals and strategy in an effort to develop communication plans/campaigns to achieve goals, which will likely include internal and external components.
  5. Aligns with other marketing resources to supplement existing marketing plans with product launch specific activities.
  6. Understands strategic positioning and ensures that positioning is reflected in product content produced.
  7. Product specific messaging and related materials - creating/updating product descriptions to be used in proposals, presentations, and brochures.
  8. Act as liaison with Client Management team in effectively launching products within clients.
  9. Segment planning - including involvement in the road maps within department and supported business units.
  10. Current product enhancement projects based on sales analysis - utilizing product tools to augment current offerings and messaging as needed.
  11. Special projects in support of vetting, analyzing, creating, and supporting the development and promotion of new product ideas and/or departmental needs.
  12. Ownership of department 'vetting' process through management of report-out communication and incoming product requests, utilizing current fit model analysis and resource planning.
Job Specification

Involving internal and external product/services planning and execution:

  1. Experience within Retail, Distributor, IT, and Security & Surveillance industries.
  2. Experience working within a product development and marketing, and/or strategic planning function or organization.
  3. Experience preparing competitive comparisons, executive findings summaries, and/or presentations to management with sound recommendations.
  4. Proven ability to leverage peer relationships within an organization.
  5. Strong skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS Project, and Visio.
  6. Must have a solid project management foundation - ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at once.
