This role will be responsible for product development and its marketing through:
- Product Creation and ongoing maintenance of competitive product/market comparisons by himself or in coordination with his Marketing team.
- Work as both Product Development Manager and Marketing Manager; researching product ideas, market opportunities and trends that lead to development of new products, features, and benefits.
- Working closely with clients and prospects to gauge market conditions and understand pre/post customer purchase needs.
- Determines product launch marketing goals and strategy in an effort to develop communication plans/campaigns to achieve goals, which will likely include internal and external components.
- Aligns with other marketing resources to supplement existing marketing plans with product launch specific activities.
- Understands strategic positioning and ensures that positioning is reflected in product content produced.
- Product specific messaging and related materials - creating/updating product descriptions to be used in proposals, presentations, and brochures.
- Act as liaison with Client Management team in effectively launching products within clients.
- Segment planning - including involvement in the road maps within department and supported business units.
- Current product enhancement projects based on sales analysis - utilizing product tools to augment current offerings and messaging as needed.
- Special projects in support of vetting, analyzing, creating, and supporting the development and promotion of new product ideas and/or departmental needs.
- Ownership of department 'vetting' process through management of report-out communication and incoming product requests, utilizing current fit model analysis and resource planning.
Job Specification
Involving internal and external product/services planning and execution:
- Experience within Retail, Distributor, IT, and Security & Surveillance industries.
- Experience working within a product development and marketing, and/or strategic planning function or organization.
- Experience preparing competitive comparisons, executive findings summaries, and/or presentations to management with sound recommendations.
- Proven ability to leverage peer relationships within an organization.
- Strong skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS Project, and Visio.
- Must have a solid project management foundation - ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at once.
