INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Industrial Intelligence team. You will design, develop, and maintain high-performance Python-based systems and RESTful APIs while shaping scalable architectures and mentoring junior and senior developers.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of hands-on Python development experience with OOP, async programming, and ecosystem (Django, Flask, FastAPI).
• Strong backend expertise in RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems for scalable production apps.
• Proven experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience designing event-driven architectures and integrating messaging/streaming tech like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Solid understanding of authentication/authorization, OIDC/OAuth 2.0, SSO and JWT.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and define coding standards and best practices.

INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our dynamic Industrial Intelligence team. INTECH IIS applications are built on its proprietary Industry 4.0 platform. They help address operational, optimization, and performance challenges faced by industries, be it in manufacturing, oil & gas, chemical & process, food & beverages, or metals & mining. These applications harness the capabilities of artificial intelligence, machine learning, physical and knowledge modeling, and visualizations for analyses on real-time and historical big data.

What You’ll Lead and Deliver:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Python-based systems and RESTful APIs, ensuring reliability, security, and maintainability across production environments.
• Design and evolve distributed and event-driven architectures, defining service boundaries, communication patterns, event contracts, and resilient asynchronous workflows that support scalability and long-term business needs.
• Lead and mentor junior and senior developers, establishing clear coding standards, architectural guidelines, and engineering best practices to drive code quality and team growth.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, contribute to technical roadmaps, and assess the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and technologies.
• Oversee and actively participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to design principles, testing strategies, debugging practices, and performance optimization standards.
• Take end-to-end ownership of complex features and services, including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring and post-production support.
• Ensure systems are well-tested, observable, and resilient, leveraging logging, monitoring, and alerting to maintain high availability and performance.
• Continuously improve development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and system architecture to support scalability and long-term business objectives.
• Build and maintain secure identity and access management integrations, including OIDC/OAuth-based authentication, SSO, authorization, and SCIM-based user and group provisioning, while ensuring secure and consistent identity lifecycle management across services.

Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

• 8 -10 years of hands‑on experience in Python development with deep expertise in core Python concepts, OOP principles, asynchronous programming, and the Python ecosystem, including Django, Flask, and FastAPI.
• Strong background in backend development, RESTful API design, microservices, and distributed systems, with experience designing scalable service architectures, defining service boundaries, handling inter-service communication, and building reliable production systems.
• Strong experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including schema design, transactions, indexing, query optimization, connection management, and performance tuning for high-scale applications.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures, including asynchronous communication, event/message processing, retries, idempotency, failure handling, eventual consistency, and integration with messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent technologies
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization and enterprise identity management, with hands‑on experience implementing or integrating OIDC/OAuth 2.0, SSO, JWT and developer.??
