About the Role

DataGraders is looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to join our Data & Analytics team in Lahore. We are looking for someone who can handle the complete Power BI development lifecycle — from connecting directly with source systems and extracting data to data transformation, modeling, dashboard development, deployment, and performance optimization. Hands-on experience in fetching and integrating data directly from source systems is mandatory for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Connect Power BI directly with different source systems, databases, APIs, ERP applications, and other enterprise systems.
• Understand source-system structures and independently identify and extract the data required for reporting.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.
• Perform data transformation, cleansing, and preparation using Power Query / M.
• Build efficient and scalable data models using dimensional modeling and star-schema concepts.
• Develop business calculations and KPIs using DAX.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into meaningful analytical solutions.
• Configure Row-Level Security (RLS) and other data-access requirements.
• Publish and manage reports, semantic models, datasets, and workspaces within Power BI Service.
• Configure and troubleshoot data gateways and scheduled refreshes.
• Troubleshoot data extraction, integration, refresh, performance, and reporting issues.
• Optimize Power BI reports and data models for performance and scalability.
• Work closely with customers, functional consultants, data engineers, and other technical teams.
• Prepare technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer where required.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 2-4 years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
• Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

• Good understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and star schema.
• Experience with Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience with Power BI gateways, scheduled refreshes, workspaces, and deployments.
• Ability to troubleshoot data and integration issues independently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse, or other Azure data services.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Experience extracting and reporting data from SAP or other ERP systems.
• Experience working in consulting or customer-facing analytics projects.

Work Location

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Lahore. Candidates must be comfortable working from the DataGraders office.
