Job summary

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) recruited on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA) seeks a Phytosanitary Inspector for supervisory roles at entry/exit points and regional stations. The candidate will oversee inspection activities, ensure SOP compliance, and support certification and clearance decisions for imports/exports.

The role requires a degree in Agriculture with specialization in Entomology/Plant Pathology and 4+ years in plant quarantine or border operations,

Qualifications

• Minimum sixteen years of education in Agriculture with Entomology, Plant Protection, Plant Pathology or Weed Science
• Knowledge of phytosanitary inspection and sampling procedures and SOPs
• Strong coordination and reporting skills; proficiency in computer applications
• Willingness to work in shift/field environments at border points

Responsibilities

• Provide local operational supervision of phytosanitary inspection and compliance activities for plant imports/exports at the assigned point of entry/exit or regional station
• Supervise inspectors and ensure compliance with SOPs for documentary verification, physical inspection, sampling, and reporting
• Coordinate verification of phytosanitary treatments and ensure safety compliance is met
• Support issuance workflows for phytosanitary certification (exports) and clearance decisions (imports) by ensuring inspection outcomes are complete and accurate
• Coordinate with Customs and other border agencies during inspection and clearance processes to facilitate compliant trade
• Report interceptions, non-compliances, suspected fraud, and biosecurity risks promptly and prepare official records
• Maintain local compliance records and submit periodic operational reports to headquarters
• Support audits, verification missions, and training of field staff as directed
• Perform other responsibilities assigned by the reporting officer in support of NAFSA's mandate
