Job summary

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is recruiting for a field-focused phytosanitary inspector to join the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA) foundation team in Lahore. The role involves conducting phytosanitary inspections, collecting samples, and ensuring compliance with laws and SOPs at entry/exit points.

Candidate will have a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with strong attention to detail, field readiness, and basic computer skills for

Qualifications

• B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture with specialization in relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in plant quarantine or inspection.
• Knowledge of sampling procedures and basic phytosanitary requirements.
• Ability to work in field/shift environments with integrity.
• Basic computer skills for record entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct phytosanitary inspection of plants, plant products, and regulated articles at points of entry/exit in accordance with laws and SOPs.
• Collect official samples for diagnostic analysis, ensuring chain of custody and documentation.
• Inspect export consignments to verify compliance with importing-country requirements prior to certification.
• Supervise and verify phytosanitary treatments and confirm treatment parameters and safety compliance.
• Inspect and monitor approved facilities and service providers for compliance.
• Implement prescribed phytosanitary measures on non-compliant consignments (detention, treatment, re-export, destruction).
• Detect, record, and report pest interceptions, non-compliance, suspected fraud, or biosecurity risks and prepare inspection/treatment reports.
• Coordinate with Customs and other border agencies during inspection and clearance processes.
• Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the reporting officer in support of NAFSA's mandate.
