Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer to design and execute performance tests for Java microservices and cloud-based Point of Sale applications.

You will drive automation alongside manual testing, contribute to CI pipelines (TeamCity, Xray), set up Kubernetes test environments, analyze results, and collaborate in Agile ceremonies to resolve issues and improve product reliability.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar streams.
• Preferably 6-8 years of professional performance testing experience.
• Solid experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Strong foundation in manual testing and Java programming.
• Ability to adapt to an existing automation framework and API automation with RestAssured.
• Programming skills in Java, C, C++, JavaScript, or similar are valued.
• Knowledge of OO concepts and data structures/algorithms.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Build a performance testing architecture for cloud-based microservices and POS apps.
• Perform manual and automation testing, especially during regression cycles.
• Test next-generation products using advanced testing techniques.
• Execute test cases manually and with automation scripts in CI pipelines (TeamCity, Xray).
• Analyze test results and identify performance bottlenecks.
• Set up and manage Kubernetes clusters for local performance testing environments.
• Attend Agile ceremonies and collaborate with teams to resolve issues.
• Explore product behavior during testing and contribute to quality improvements.
• Provide work-hour overlap until 5pm EST (PKT 2:00 AM) during initial two months.

Requirements

• Completed a degree or Master's program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar streams
