Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of operating room experience preferred.
• Diploma in Nursing or Midwifery with current registration.
• Ability to work in operating theatre with aseptic and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including positioning and ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintain sterile fields using aseptic techniques to prevent infections during surgeries.
• Handle surgical instruments and equipment efficiently, ensuring all tools are ready and accounted for.
• Conduct surgical counts and manage specimen handling to maintain accuracy and patient safety.
• Provide post-operative care, monitoring patients and administering prescribed medications as directed.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient data and procedural records in compliance with healthcare standards.
• Coordinate the scheduling and enlistment of patients for procedures, ensuring effective communication across clinical teams.
• Work flexible hours to align with variable procedure timings and emergency situations.
• Strictly adhere to operating theater and recovery room protocols to uphold patient safety and quality care standards.
• Collaborate effectively with consultants and other clinical professionals to facilitate seamless patient management.
