Job summary

Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) is seeking an OPD Assistant / Midwife to support daily OPD operations and provide basic maternal and reproductive healthcare services to women. The role involves registering patients, managing queues, assisting clinicians, and maintaining records with attention to privacy and accuracy.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma in Midwifery or CMW, have experience in OPD or maternal health, and possess good communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Midwifery/CMW is required.
• Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and prepare/issue OPD tokens.
• Manage patient flow and arrange the waiting line in an organized manner.
• Assist the clinical team during OPD consultations and procedures.
• Provide basic antenatal and postnatal care as per scope of practice.
• Monitor and record vital signs and relevant patient information.
• Provide basic maternal health education and counseling.
• Maintain patient folders and arrange records in ascending order.
• Make medicine entries and maintain relevant records.
• Maintain accurate staff and patient records.
• Identify and refer patients requiring specialized medical attention.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper organization of the OPD area.
• Provide backup support for other OPD duties during workload.
