Job summary

OHDELA is seeking a Student Success Coach to onboard and support students in a virtual K-12 environment, with periodic in-person state testing and events.

You will work with new students and families, maintain weekly office hours, assist with course selection, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers and administrators to remove barriers to attendance and achievement. This role requires strong communication, data skills, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, or related field is required.
• Experience as a teacher tutor, counselor, or mentor to youth is preferred.
• Marketing experience including social media, events, and communications is beneficial.
• Proficiency with Google Docs, MS Office Suite, email, and internet applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong data collection and analysis skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate with distributed workforce and clientele.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Support new and returning students and families through onboarding and required tasks.
• Maintain weekly open office hours/help sessions to support new students and families.
• Make welcome calls with homeroom teacher.
• Follow up on non-completion items for new students.
• Identify issues and coordinate with departments/vendors for prompt resolution.
• Participate in Admissions Counseling: review transcripts, assist with course selection, answer questions.
• Serve as primary contact for developing plans to address barriers to attendance, academic and behavioral goals.
• Provide research-based strategies to help students communicate with teachers and administrators.
• Facilitate training and provide academic resources to increase achievement.
• Collaborate with students to check progress and accountability.
• Work with teachers and parents on evaluation of progress and objectives.
• Conduct conferences with parents and students.
• Prepare for and attend student gatherings.
• Maintain documentation of student performance and progress.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Collaborate with school leadership on re-enrollment activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
