Position Summary

The Network & Security Engineer will be deployed full-time at Build-IT to ensure seamless operation of the customer’s Huawei-based network infrastructure. Build-IT provides shared office spaces with internet and network services to multiple tenants, so consistent uptime, fast resolution, and proactive monitoring are business-critical. The Network & Security Engineer will be the first line of support for all network, wireless, internet, and firewall-related issues, working closely with the ATS team and escalating to Huawei TAC if needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site technical lead for all Huawei network devices, including switches, access points, routers, and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to internet downtime, LAN/WLAN connectivity, and access control.
• Monitor and maintain Huawei Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), including policy changes, NAT, VPNs, and basic threat detection.
• Ensure stable and high-performance internet service across all office floors and client spaces.
• Perform routine health checks on all critical devices and generate reports for internal tracking.
• Work with ATS senior engineers and escalate to Huawei principal support when required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network layout, firewall policies, IP schemes, and troubleshooting steps.
• Coordinate planned maintenance with minimal impact to client operations.
• Continuously monitor and improve Wi-Fi coverage, network performance, and internet reliability.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Huawei enterprise switches, wireless controllers, APs, and NGFWs.
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, and static/dynamic routing.
• Proficiency in Huawei firewall configuration, including security policy management, NAT and VPN configuration, basic IPS/URL filtering/logging.
• Deep understanding of wireless signal optimization and troubleshooting.
• Ability to quickly isolate and resolve internet connectivity issues.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and client communication skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of handling issues independently in a customer-facing environment.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise networking and on-site support roles.
• HCIA / HCIP (Routing & Switching, WLAN, or Security) certifications are preferred.
