Job summary

ACE Money Transfer Limited seeks a Database Administrator to maintain MySQL and MSSQL environments across development, staging and production. You will work with DevOps and infrastructure teams on provisioning, backups, monitoring and incident response.

The role emphasizes data availability, integrity and uptime in a fintech setting, with guidance from senior DBAs and exposure to cloud-managed services like AWS RDS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer MySQL and MSSQL instances day-to-day, self-managed or via AWS RDS.
• Maintain environments across Dev, Staging and Production with consistent configs and version-controlled changes.
• Monitor health, performance metrics and resource usage; tune queries with senior guidance.
• Participate in backup scheduling, validation and restore testing; support replication and HA configurations.
• Apply security practices: access control, encryption, auditing and compliance with policy; patching alongside security teams.
• Develop automation scripts in Python, Bash or SQL to streamline backups, monitoring and maintenance.
• Support managed databases and cloud networking with AWS, Azure or other providers.
• Triage database incidents and collaborate with Dev, Ops, Security to keep services running smoothly.
• Keep up-to-date documentation of configs, runbooks and procedures; pursue learning of new DB technologies.
