Job summary

Al Rakan Construction (Pvt.) Ltd. is seeking an experienced MEP Shop Drawing Draftsman to convert consultant IFC/design drawings into construction-ready shop drawings for HVAC and Plumbing on building projects.

You will produce detailed HVAC and Plumbing shop drawings using AutoCAD 2D, create ductwork, piping, sections, elevations and riser diagrams, and ensure coordination with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines. Experience with Dubai projects is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience specifically in Building MEP Shop Drawing.
• Strong hands-on experience in HVAC and Plumbing shop drawings.
• Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
• Ability to independently read and understand MEP IFC/design drawings.
• Experience with building projects such as high-rise, residential, hotel, mixed-use or commercial projects.
• Good understanding of HVAC, plumbing and MEP construction practices.
• Ability to produce detailed shop drawings with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to technical details, levels, dimensions and drawing standards.
• UAE/Dubai project experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with Dubai Municipality / DEWA requirements will be an advantage.

• Identify clashes, discrepancies and coordination issues before submission.
• Prepare and update as-built drawings based on approved changes and site requirements.
• Incorporate consultant comments and revise drawings accurately.
• Maintain proper drawing standards, layers, dimensions, levels, annotations, symbols and technical details.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated and suitable for construction and consultant submission.

MEP Shop Drawing Draftsman – HVAC & Plumbing

Al Rakan Construction (Pvt.) Ltd. is looking for an experienced MEP Shop Drawing Draftsman with strong hands-on experience in preparing Building MEP Shop Drawings, particularly HVAC and Plumbing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for converting consultant IFC/design drawings into accurate, detailed and construction-ready shop drawings for building projects.

This is specifically a Building MEP Shop Drawing position.

Candidates with experience primarily in the following areas will not be considered relevant:

• Mechanical parts drafting
• Industrial equipment drafting
• Civil/structural drafting
• Candidates with only a Mechanical Engineering degree but no professional Building MEP shop-drawing experience

A Mechanical Engineering degree alone does not qualify for this position. Relevant professional Building MEP Shop Drawing experience is mandatory.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a practical MEP shop-drawing test to demonstrate their AutoCAD skills, technical understanding, drawing accuracy and ability to produce construction-ready drawings.

Only candidates with relevant Building MEP Shop Drawing experience will be shortlisted.
