Job description

MBBS with at least 2 years of experience. Candidates having MCPS shall be preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Manage operations and administration at the medical centre.
  • Ensure compliance with roles, responsibilities, functions and procedures as per the manual; exercise due diligence in discharging responsibilities.
  • Ensure attendance and punctuality of doctors and staff at the medical centre.
  • Ensure medical policies and procedures are followed, including medical referrals, sick leaves and record keeping.
  • Review patient history (particularly chronic patients) in the system regularly and ensure history is updated by the doctors.
  • Confirm that doctors have conducted necessary procedures for treatment and that referrals to panel facilities are justified; ensure compliance with disease protocols in monthly performance reports.
  • Report emergency cases to the In-charge Up-country Medical Centre for approval/ratification.
  • Report the medical centre's performance to the In-charge Up-country Medical Centre on a periodic basis.
  • Maintain discipline among staff and doctors.
  • Conduct medical audits of doctors on a test basis, including auditing medical books at random, regular observations of clinical examinations, and assessing the on-the-spot validity of referrals.
  • Make necessary efforts to prevent unnecessary hospitalization and related expenditures on inpatient cases in the centre.
  • Visit panel and non-panel hospitals on the instructions of the In-charge Up-country Medical Centre to verify: physical appearance to actual patients, patient identity, and adequacy of medical facilities provided.
  • Communicate with treating doctors of admitted patients regarding diagnosis, investigations undertaken or to be undertaken, indications, appropriateness of treatment, duration of hospitalization, and discharge plans.
  • Report to the In-charge Up-country Medical Centre on a monthly basis, including details of cases visited, visit results, and status of planned visits.
  • Comply with urgent calls for specific visits and investigations as advised by the In-charge Up-country Medical Centre.
  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the CMO.
