Job summary

Mashreq Careers in Pakistan is seeking a Banking Operations Analyst focused on foreign exchange and Nostro management. You will monitor currency positions, ensure deals are within limits, and verify rates and settlements across branches to maintain accurate books.

You will also handle MIS reporting, P&L monitoring, month-end revaluations, and reconciliation of sundry accounts, ensuring compliance with internal controls and TOC guidelines.

• Ensure all deals in the system are authorized in order to reflect correct position in the book.
• Monitoring and checking the currency position of the branches to advise covering the exchange position.
• Control of FX / MM limits to ensure the dealers are not exceeding the limits.
• Checking exchange and deposit rates so as to ensure that correct rates are provided to the customers.
• Matching all Forex bank deals with customer deals to avoid any exchange position.
• Monitoring limits and accounting of Precious Metal transactions in order to ensure that all entries are recorded in the book of accounts correctly and within the approved limit.
• Checking Parity Tolerance Report of currencies in order to prevent occurrences of wrong Exchange rates or loss.
• Monitoring daily exchange profit / loss which helps in pointing out any mistakes as regards to wrong rates.
• Nostro Management helps in covering exchange positions, keeping a check on the entries posted by other Departments and Branches and to avoid overdrawing of account.
• The jobs are done as per the policies and guidelines laid down in the TOC Manual and perhaps the procedures may change if there is a change / modification in the system.
• As this job includes covering of Nostro, it requires him to have cordial relationship with Operations division and Local and Overseas branches. To maintain good relations with Dealers is also vital

Job description

• Monitor FX Proprietary Profit/Loss and report to the management on daily and monthly basis.

• Ensure all transaction errors are approved and report the figures to management on monthly basis.

• Monthly revaluation of Proprietary Interest Rate Swap deals and ensure the GL accounts are reflected and report the P/L to management on monthly basis.

• Preparing FX Margin and Futures Customer Commission report date-wise / customer-wise and sending to management.

• Preparing Corporate Customers P&L report customer-wise and sending to Front Office and CBG as per commission sharing agreement.

• Consolidating of all Monthly TCM income figures and sending the report to the management.

• Preparing all Banking Returns and share with CAD as per SLA

• Prepare the Survey received from CB on a regular basis

• Return on Unmatured Forward Exchange Contracts.

• Return on Unmatured Forward Exchange Contracts of Non-resident customers.

• Preparing of Statement of Derivatives (IAS-7) and passing related entries to the GL and providing the report to CAD.

• Preparing of Analysis of Large Exposures to Non-Banks and sending the report to CAD.

• Preparing monthly report of exchange income on vostro accounts.

• Monitor and reconcile Sundry Creditors/Debtors accounts

• Monitor all suspense account and clear post investigation
