Job summary

Siddiqi & Co in Karachi, Pakistan seeks a Manager, Tax & Compliance to lead all direct and indirect tax matters. You will own tax compliance, filings, assessments and audits, and advise management on how tax law changes affect business decisions.

The role requires 8–10 years of taxation experience in Pakistan, strong knowledge of income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, and the ability to lead and develop a taxation team. Location is Karachi, with relocation support as needed.

Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent with ACCA/ACAM preferred.
• 8–10 years of relevant taxation experience in Pakistan.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan's direct and indirect tax laws (income tax, sales tax, withholding tax).
• Hands-on experience handling tax assessments, audits, notices and appeals with tax authorities.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a taxation team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead all direct and indirect tax matters (income tax, sales tax, withholding tax).
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and statements, and timely payment of taxes.
• Manage tax assessments, audits, notices and appeals, and lead correspondence with tax authorities.
• Review tax implications of business transactions, contracts and agreements.
• Track changes in tax law and advise management on impact.
• Develop tax planning strategies to reduce tax risks and liabilities.
• Collaborate with external tax consultants, auditors and government authorities.
• Keep tax records, reconciliations and supporting documentation complete and audit-ready.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning on tax matters.
• Lead, mentor and develop the taxation team.
