Job Responsibilities
- Operational Risk Assessment of Branches/Units and Bank Policies & Procedures Reviews
- Execute operational risk assessments of business units by visiting sample units to oversee control effectiveness. Collaborate with Business & Functions representatives to gather control and risk metrics for monitoring Operational Risk KRIs.
- Conduct periodic reviews of bank policies, procedures, and products to identify gaps and ensure regulatory compliance, proposing banking best practices proactively.
- Prepare risk assessment reports based on data analysis.
- Ensure effective implementation and annual update of bank-wide risk registers, KRIs, KPIs, and internal control sample testing.
- Review OR Assessments periodically to reflect environmental changes, controls, and treatment plan progress.
- Utilize mathematical and statistical skills to develop risk models supporting Operational Risk Management.
Development & Implementation of Incident Reporting, Loss Database & Risk Management Tools
- Develop mechanisms for incident reporting and loss database covering all bank-wide near-misses and losses.
- Report and escalate significant operational risk events.
- Quantify operational risk using incident and loss data modeling.
- Conduct root cause analysis for relevant events and communicate updates to senior management.
- Maintain database for Ubank Goldsmith Panel/surveyors, ensuring due diligence and record keeping of panelist movements.
Awareness & Training
- Conduct awareness and training sessions at assigned branches.
Reporting, Record/Data Maintenance
- Prepare and maintain reports of all tasks assigned, including special tasks.
Technical Competency and Skills
- Effective interpersonal, communication, team building, and management skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Sound knowledge of Ubank products, processes, and policies.
- Interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, and adaptability skills.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- Preferably 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, risk management, or banking industry.
